So has the rain finally stopped or is this a temporary reprieve? Some are saying this is the wettest drought ever! I have even heard the mention of snow in the UK this week.

Whilst it is dry I shall be making the most of the sunshine and hanging some washing on the line, checking the seeds that we planted during the last sunny spell and going for a walk. Although we might complain if the rain starts again maybe we should seize the opportunity to tackle some of the indoor tasks we have been putting off and also enjoy a time of shutting the door on the world and relaxing at home.

Why not dig out some of the old board games or jigsaws or indulge in a crossword or Sudoku puzzle? Maybe it’s time to sort all the photographs into new albums and reminisce about events and holidays gone by. Or even maybe it’s time to start planning the next big trip (to somewhere with sunshine all year round!) with one of Paper Eden’s Travel Planners.

Whatever you do whether it’s sunny or wet make the most of it because you can guarantee that as soon as the weather changes we will be wishing for the opposite!

I love family traditions, the ones that have run for many years and also those I am creating with my own family.

One of the traditions which has resumed recently in our house is gathering round the television on a Saturday night for the latest prime time entertainment show. My boys and I are really enjoying The Voice on BBC1. We all have our favourite judge, our favourite singer and have no trouble letting our opinions be known if the wrong person is saved.

Tom Jones really is a legend. I think he must have entertained more than 3 generations. will.i.am is the epitome of cool. Jesse J seems to have a hairstyle for every episode. And finally I come to Danny O’Donoghue, lead singer of The Script who comes to each round with his trusty notebook. So if you feel the need to make your own notes on the latest reality show or even notes about the reality of your daily life have a look at the Moleskine notebooks on Paper Eden which might even be the ones Danny uses!

PS I think Jesse J would be more of a Paperblanks person. Tom would only go for something in leather. And as we all know will.i.am just likes to Tweet!

Well, I don’t know what you treated your mother to , if of course you still have one. But I had afternoon tea on the Bluebell Railway, No Thomas the Tank Engine, No screaming children (bless them). Just quite and orderly adults enjoying a pot of Earl grey tea, delicate sandwiches and assorted mini cakes and scones.

We started the trip with of course a glass of champagne, just perfect, although sadly the weather could have been better, but as a well oiled organisation as The Bluebell railway is, each table was issued with a chamois sponge to wipe the windows.

Excellent trip in every way.
